With the Shanghai Major just around the corner, we have just enough time to talk about the rise of the fallen kings, EHOME.
The Evolution of EHOME:
The name EHOME struck fear into any opponent’s heart during the early years of Dota. In 2010, the team had an incredible all-star line-up of Zou '820' Yitian, Xu 'Burning' Zhilei, Lei 'Dai' Zengrong (now known as 'MMY'), Zhour 'KingJ' Yang, and Yao '357' Yi aka 'QQQ' who is now a substitute for Vici Gaming. With debatably the best individual talent for each position, paired with the guidance of veteran coach DC, EHOME managed to sack a whopping 10 consecutive championship victories during the second half of 2010. In the following year, EHOME’s reign was to be cut short when Burning and KingJ left the team to join DK. Regardless of the roster changes, EHOME weren’t going down easily and put up an extraordinary fight through the losers bracket and made their way to the finals of the first International. Sadly however, in 2012, it was announced that EHOME were to be no more.
Fast forward a couple of years to 2014 and Tang '71' Wenyi hinted of a revival of the legendary team - teasing the Chinese Dota fans of a comeback. Alas, in 2015, EHOME was reformed with the crew of Malaysian stars; Chai Yee 'Mushi' Fung, Chong Xin 'Ohayio' Khoo, He 'Inflame' Yongzheng, Liang 'DDC' Faming, and Yang 'Zyf' Pu. Following a disappointing performance during the Dota 2 Asian Championships, Mushi and Ohayio left EHOME China to create their own Malaysian Division of the organisation. This allowed for the recruiting of Zhang 'LaNm' Zhicheng, and Bai 'rOtK' Fan as the replacements. With signs of potential, the team was doing well, finishing 1st at the Chinese qualifier for the International 2015, 2nd at MarsTV Dota 2 Spring Chinese League and 3-4th at the ESL One Frankfurt Chinese qualifiers.
As it stands the following is the current roster (going from position 1-5 from top down) for EHOME:

Draft & Play Style:
The drafting style of EHOME is very reminiscent of an early 2014 Team DK style, due to DK being coached by Tang ‘71’ Wenyi as well - to be more accurate, it is the way that EHOME like to heavily counter-draft their opponents. Also the last pick for Cty style draft was derived from Mushi’s drafting from TI3 when he played for Orange eSports. This last picking not only means it is rarely known what EHOME will draft for their carry, but also prevents them from being hard-countered. It is evident from the heroes being picked by EHOME that they prefer to have multiple players who are able to participate in fights from a very early stage of the game without having to rely on abilities which have long cooldowns. Due to them having numerous ways of initiation, EHOME prefer to gank pretty much any lane with any amount of heroes thus making it very hard for the enemy team to predict exactly where the gank will be rotating in from.
They use this method of ganking to either catch out heroes that are not in position and to control the main fighter of the opponents. It can be seen in almost all the matches played by EHOME. This tends to keep the opponents on edge all the time, as they will have no clue where and when EHOME may initiate on them. This paired alongside one teamfight ultimate that EHOME draft, usually to their cores, means that they have good crowd control against drafts that might counter them. This goes to prove that EHOME have good teamfighting capabilities. Albeit EHOME use old methods of drafting but even with the changes to the heroes in 6.86 it still seems to be working, therefore leading EHOME to their success against powerhouses such as Evil Geniuses and OG.
Top Hero Picks 6.86:
Cty:
Old Chicken:
eLeVeN:
LaNm:
KaKa:
If EHOME hone their skills and really focus, they have a real chance to prove themselves to their fans once again, and show the Dota professional scene the unstoppable force that they have the potential to be. With ‘71’ keeping a close eye on the team and learning from the smallest of mistakes, we should see EHOME remaining in top form, with very little to change.
